Kandy Sports Club is looking to stretch the five-match successive victories against the Navy SC, the most recent of which saw them triumph CR & FC 32-27 second round league match at Longden Place.  In this Sunday’s game, Kandy Sports Club should go out favourites to defeat Navy SC, kickoff is set for 4 pm with Aruna Rankotge as the referee.

For the defending champions, Kandy Sports Club who is placed third in the league table, this game is particularly important as they have to maintain their place against a determined challenge coming from Navy SC, who are the winners in the first leg. So, today the Nittawela boys are sure to pull off a creditable victory.  Kandy SC players are a lot capable of contesting the game to the bitter end. The battle for possession in today’s game will indeed be a vital one for the defending champions who need plenty of good ball to play their brand of open rugby.

The tackling of the Kandy SC’s back division aligned to the cover defence of the third row might well have an effect on Sailors back division which has to find their form.  Sailors are hoping to play a well-balanced side.  ON contrary what the Kandy SC needs today is a well-engineered and clear cut win to climb up the table. Despite the splendid showing against CR & FC in the last outing, they must expect the going to be much tougher as the Navy SC lads, are now playing well as a team and will be hoping to address themselves to the game with equal determination.
