Negombo Sports Club pose with the award given to the winners of Division VII in the Inter-club Doubles Championship

A high standard of tennis was witnessed at the All-island Inter-club Doubles and Mercantile Tennis Champions which were worked off concurrently at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) Courts in Colombo recently. The prize distribution at these tournaments was conducted under the guidance of SLTA President Iqbal Bin Ishaq.

The Tryphon Mirando Memorial Trophy which was on offer for the overall winners of the All-island Inter-club Doubles tournament was won by Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC). The runners-up award in the tournament went to the team that represented the SLTA.
SSC ‘B’ team won the Division111 title while Negombo Tennis Club won the runner-up award.

Meanwhile Negombo Sports Club won the Division VII title. A representative team from SLT won the over 55-age division. SSC took home the award in the over 35-age division.
The Mercantile Tennis Championships was won Mass Holdings Pvt LTD with 173 points while DFCC walked away with the runner-up award.
