Trinity will be led this season by Nethan Yee Chang

Manoj Jayatissa who led Trinity College rugby team in 1985 has been appointed as the manager of their senior rugby team for the  fifth year. He was a fine ruggerite during his school days and played along with players like Ashan Ratwatte, Rohan Abeyakoon, S. Hassan Ally, D. Sivasubramanium, R. Gunasakara and C. Kalugampitiya to name a few.
Under the captaincy of Ratwatte, he represented Kandy Sports Club in the rugby Sevens in 1986. Many expect him to deliver this year too, largely because he has so much knowledge in rugby.

The Trinity boys are at practices and as many as 55 are seen on the field. By end of this week they will prune the squad to 40. They will play their most looked forward to rugby encounter, the Bradby Shield against Royal on May 20th (first leg) at (Pallekelle). The date for the second leg has not been fixed yet.

The side is led by Nethan Yee Chang. Trinity will open the season in mid-February. This time they are in the Division I Segment 2A and will play against S. Thomas’, Science, Wesley, Zahira and Prince of Wales. The boys are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the date for the annual rugby coaching camp. This time the MIC for rugby is Sahana Vajirasena.
