ABC is continuing their partnership with Marvel Television – and in a big way – with the surprising announcement of their latest series. Marvel’s The Inhumans will make its way to the network in the fall of 2017, but not before getting a premiere on the biggest screens. A version of the show’s first two episodes will run worldwide exclusively in IMAX theaters for two weeks at the beginning of September. ABC plans to then premiere the weekly series in the fall, with additional exclusive content that will only be seen on the network.
Introduced in ABC’s first Marvel series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Inhumans are a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers. Marvel’s The Inhumans will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family. The cross-platform distribution deal is the first of its kind for a television series, as well as marking the first time IMAX has financed a TV show.
