Sanaya Buddhadasa and Dewmith Weerasena were adjudged as the most outstanding players among girls and boys respectively, at the Western Province Ranking Table Tennis Championship held at S. Thomas’ Indoor Stadium, Mt. Lavinia recently.

Sanaya Buddhadasa of Visakha Vidyalaya won the open women’s singles title while Dewmith Weerasena of Lyceum International, Nugegoda won the open men’s singles title.
Meanwhile, Jithara Warnakulasooriya of Ladies College, and Senura Silva of Ananda College were adjudged as the most promising players among girls and boys respectively.
The tournament organised by the Western Province Table Tennis Association saw 450 players from Western Province take part.

Men’s Singles: Dewmith Weerasena (Lyceum International, Nugegoda) beat Rasika Manoj (Army) 12/10, 11/8, 11/8.

U-18: Thisas Ranchagoda (Royal) beat Dewmith Weerasena (Lyceum, Nugegoda) 11/6, 8/11, 11/4, 12/10.

U-15: Senura Silva (Ananda) beat Dewmith Weerasena (Lyceum, Nugegoda) 11/9, 3/11, 11/4, 6/11, 12/10.

U-12: Senura Silva (Ananda) beat Sahiru Munasinghe (Bandaranaike College, Gampaha) 11/3, 11/4, 11/6.

U-10: Oshan Senaratharachchi (Royal) beat Leenula Methumsith (Lyceum, Gampaha) 7/11, 11/6, 11/4.

U-8: Kakeru Hennayake (Ananda) beat Dewmeth Weerasena (Lyceum, Nugegoda) 11/4, 11/3.

(Girls):
Women’s singles: Sanaya Buddhadasa (Visakha Vidyalaya) beat Fathmath Dheema Ali (Royal Institute, Colombo) 11/8, 3/11, 10/ 12, 11/7, 11/4.

U-18: Vilanya Dulmini (Visakha) beat Jithara Warnakulasooriya (Ladies College) 11/8, 11/9, 14/12.

U-15: Jithara Warnakulasooriya (Ladies College) beat Vilanya Dulmini (Visakha) 6/11, 11/9, 11/6, 11/6.

U-12: Dilni Thesanya (Devi Balika Vidyalaya) beat Sanaya Buddadasa (Visakha) 9/11, 11/9, 11/3, 11/5.

U-10: Oneli Lehansa (Musaeus) beat Sithmi Seya (Musaeus) 11/7, 11/6.

U-8: Sandinthie Jayasinghe (Musaeus) beat Benuri Ranjula (Visakha) 11/5, 11/5.
