Asidisi Cricket Championship will be held for the sixth year at the Thurstan College ground on September 30, October 1 and 2.

The tournament is expected to attract 32 men and 12 women teams.

The championship is organised by the Ministry of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media. The organisers of the tournament have specified that each team will comprise 11 members.  Matches will be played with the softball and each team will get ten overs of batting. However, the tournament for women will be restricted to five overs per side.

“The tournament will be held on a league basis for all media personnel, and the final will be held at 4 p.m. on October 2 followed by the prize distribution,” said Chandana Vidanapathirana who is in charge of the arrangements.

The opening ceremony will be held at 8.30 a.m. on the first day with Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka and Karunaratne Paranavitharana attending as special guests.
