Katie Holmes‘, 37, divorce from Tom Cruise, 54, was messy — to say the least. And the more and more details that pour out about the two’s split, the crazier everything seems. Now, we’ve discovered the latest piece of the puzzle, and it’s absolutely cringe-worthy. Apparently, a stipulation that Katie couldn’t date publicly for five years was part of their divorce agreement!
“Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce,” a source told Radar Online. “She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri [Cruise].”
Apparently Katie wanted things over with so much she agreed to that clause to get the divorce done ASAP. “Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms – and got $4.8 million in child support, plus another $5 million for herself,” the insider said of Katie’s split from Tom back in June 2012.
