In an effort to help corporates and business leaders achieve their maximum potential which will ultimately reflect on the country’s national growth objectives, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) will take the lead in helping organisations unleash their potential at the 37th National Conference which will be held in October this year.
The conference which will revolve around the inspiring theme ‘Unleashed Thinking’ will pay special focus on the potential of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship and how it can benefit the country and help Sri Lanka become a global player.
The conference which has built a reputation as a business summit is expected to bring together over 1500 business leaders including Chartered Accountants and Leaders from other professions from October 19 to 21, 2016. The annual event will be further boosted with an expert panel of local and foreign speakers who will share insights during two days of technical sessions, which will follow the inauguration of the conference on October 19, 2016.
Unveiling the theme of this year’s conference at a press conference in Colombo, President of CA Sri Lanka Lasantha Wickremasinghe noted that Sri Lanka has great potential and if it is to reach its maximum capabilities, it should be an innovation-driven global player.
“With Asia being the engine of growth, and as a nation belonging to this region we can gain great momentum from this growth. Therefore, our corporates need to take advantage from this growth which will ultimately reflect greatly on the national economy,”
He noted that the country can boost its standing as a global player by encouraging and promoting entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship, which will help take Sri Lanka to the next level.
This year’s national conference theme was unveiled by Wickremasinghe in the presence of CA Sri Lanka’s Vice President Jagath Perera, Chairman of the National Conference Committee Tishan Subasinghe, Chairperson of the National Conference Technical Committee Ms. Anoji De Silva and Chief Executive Officer Aruna Alwis.
