Lote Raikabula, one of the finest ruggerites to represent New Zealand, is expected to take over the Trinity College rugby team as coach next season.
Raikabula (born July 31, 1983 in Suva, Fiji) has played both fifteen-a-side and seven-a-side rugby. He has played in more than 60 tournaments since making his debut in 2006.
He also played in the Carlton Sevens and represented Western Warriors. Trinity’s coaching last season was handled by Sanjaya Amunugama (under 16, 18 and 2nd XV) and Buddika Abeyasinghe (under 16). M. Fizal, Isanka Abeyakoon and Darshana Udalagama handled the under 12 team. The Trinity senior rugby team last season was handled by Sean Wijesinghe and Saliya Kumara after the appointed coach Eric Miller quit his coaching assignment prematurely.
