United Nations (UN) Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon is scheduled to meet the leadership of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) today during his visit to Jaffna.

The Secretary General is scheduled to meet TNA Parliamentary Group Leader, R. Sampanthan and party spokesperson, Parliamentarian M.A. Sumanthiran and other members this afternoon.

The TNA would is expected to urge Ban Ki-moon to press the governemnt to fulfill all the requirements pertaining to the resolution that was passed at the UN Human Rights Council sessions in Geneva.

In addition, issues concerning the continuous military presence in the North would also be brought to the notice of the UN Secretary General at the meeting.

The UN Secretary General will then meet Northern Province Governor, Reginald Cooray.

In addition, Ban Ki-moon would also hold discussions with the Northern Province Chief Minister, C.V Wigneswaran at his official residence.
