Public Health Inspectors (PHI) have seized over 4,200 beverages that did not contain the colour coded system that indicate sugar levels.

Accordingly, 4,287 beverages were seized during raids carried out over the past two days as part of the Food Safety Week.

Reports said that cases had been filed against 156 persons.

The directive to indicate sugar levels in soft drinks via a colour coded system came into effect from August 1.
