Three people who pelted stones at Kelani Valley train have been arrested. The perpetrators of ages 16, 17 and 18 have been arrested as a result of an investigation by the Narahenpita Police Department. They are to be produced at court today.

Meanwhile the four suspects arrested for pelting stones at a coastal line train will be remanded till August 25. According to Superintendent of the Railways Protection Force, Anura Premaratne, railway security has been tightened.

An armed guard as well as two unarmed guards have been dispatched for every train running long distance. Armed guards will be dispatched to every train running the Kelani Valley line from today.
