Sri Lanka’s Stafford Motor Co (Pvt) Ltd, the sole distributor for Honda products in the country last week introduced the long awaited 10th generation Honda Civic (2016) at an event held last week

The New Civic, priced at Rs. 9.5 million has evolved from a “Compact Sedan” to a “Mid sized Sedan” a bridge between a traditional Civic and an Accord as it has grown by two inches wider and adds 1.2 inches of wheelbase with an all new re-invented “Fastback” styling concept, a design that is admired by the greatest of car enthusiasts around the globe and envied by the competition.

“Ever since its debut many decades ago, the Honda Civic has been continuously improving in all spheres and this is certainly the most evolved model yet, boasting increased dimensions, new styling, an enhanced interior, a modified refined power train and a long list of new features meticulously designed to suite even the most sophisticated niche,” General Manager of Automobiles at Stafford Motor, Sanjeeve Gooneratne said.

He said the interior ergonomics has been greatly improved with significant increase in leg space and head room, especially in the rear and enhanced trunk capacity.

Underneath the longish sporty bonnet, Honda has introduced a new 1.6L power train with 125 bhp @ 6500rpm offering better fuel economy and a much smoother ride than the predecessor and most of its direct competitors.

Exterior is handsomely styled that helps the latest Civic look more upscale and modern than its counterparts and has now leapfrogged its way to the top of the list of today’s most technologically advanced and stylish midsize category cars.

The new Civic is offered to Sri Lanka in eight breathtaking colours with metallic and pearl variants such as brilliant sporty blue metallic, dark bluish gun metallic, Cristal black pearl, White orchid pearl, modern steel metallic, lunar silver metallic, Rally red and Midnight burgundy pearl.

Some of its salient features are, Cruise control, 6 speed tip-tronic gearbox with paddle shift, Bluetooth mobile connectivity, quadrophonic stereo system with USB interface, Chunky 215 x 16 low profile tires with alloys wheels, Sporty bucket seats, Day time running lights, Projector head lights, Vehicle stability assist, Digital Fuel computer, Immobilizer and many more interesting and useful features.

“We are currently in the process of accepting orders for the next four months on both ex-stock and orders placed through the tax concessionary permits issued to senior Government officials owing to a regional quota restriction,” Gooneratne said.
