Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) has received several complaints over an email scam that redirects money used for importing goods, into hacker accounts.

SLCERT Media Spokesman, Senior Information Security Engineer, Roshan Chandraguptha said that people who order goods via email have been duped by the scam. Investigations have uncovered that hackers, after hacking into emails informed email owners of a change in the sellers account details and duped purchasers into directing funds into their accounts.

SLCERT has received over 10 complaints of such scams this year.
