The Northern Provincial Council (NPC) yesterday called for a probe into the suspicious deaths of ex-LTTE cadres who were reintegrated to the society after rehabilitation.
The NPC unanimously adopted proposal to inquire into reports of such deaths. The proposal was submitted by Chief Minister, C.V. Wigneswaran.
It was reported that 107 ex-combatants of the LTTE had died after being rehabilitated and released.
Over 11,000 cadres had surrendered during the last stages of the war and were rehabilitated.
