Thin balding hair gives out a sickly appearance, which might become a disadvantage in day-to-day life. All of us prefer to look strong and healthy, especially when we are strong and healthy in reality.

There are natural remedies to restore the volume of the hair. These should be carried out at home on a regular basis for best results.
Hair is made up of keratin, a fibrous protein. Therefore, protein is the first ingredient when adding volume to the hair. Eggs are the best source for this protein requirement. Take an egg and beat it. Wet your hair and apply the beaten egg thoroughly and massage on to the scalp gently. Leave on for 30 minutes and wash off using lukewarm water and a mild shampoo. Repeat twice a week for best results.
Fenugreek seeds are an age-old remedy used for all kinds of hair ailments. It adds volume, removes dandruff and makes hair silky and shiny. Soak three tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in water, overnight. In the morning, remove from water and grind them into a fine paste. Add two teaspoons of coconut milk to the paste and mix well. Apply on hair from root to tip and leave on for 30 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. Carry this out weekly for best results.
Avocado, olive oil and banana
Avocado is rich in vitamin E, one of the most important hair growth promoters known to mankind. Take a ripe avocado and remove the peel and extract the flesh. Then, mash it using a heavy spoon. Next, take a fresh banana and mash this too. Mix together and pour one teaspoon of olive oil. Mix well until thick in consistency. Apply this on hair, roots to tips and leave on for 30 minutes for the nutrients to be absorbed. Wash off using lukewarm water and repeat once a week for best results.
This is an old trick used by our grandmothers to add volume to hair. Onion is a source of sulphur. Sulphur boosts the production of collagen tissue, which in turn improves hair growth. Take two large onions and cut them into smaller pieces. Then crush them using mortar and pestle to extract the juice. Before shower, apply the juice on hair roots. Let it sit for 15 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water. If you feel irritation, wash off immediately.
Potato is a heavenly source of vitamins, including vitamins A, B and C. These are important for healthy hair growth and maintenance. Take a raw potato and peel it. Then, crush this using mortar and pestle. Using a strainer, squeeze out the potato juice. Apply the freshly-extracted juice on the scalp and leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off with a mild shampoo. Repeat twice a week.
