Dr Indrajit Coomaraswamy assumed duties in his new post as the Governor of the Central Bank Sri Lanka (CBSL) this morning. Addressing CBSL staff, he said that the primary responsibility of the Governor is to uphold his reputation and credibility.
He also asked the CBSL staff to work on three guiding principles which can take the the country forward for a good and sound economic frame-work soon. “Adhering to these three concepts; integrity, technical excellence and professionalism will drive the Central Bank towards our targets,” the new Governor stressed.
He also said that he will be introducing a culture of discussions, arguments, debates and openness at the Central Bank and called for the assistance of all to make it a reality.
