S-lon Lanka Pvt. Ltd., the market leader in water management systems in Sri Lanka, played a key role in the ‘Vesak Kalapaya’ organized by Sirasa TV for the sixth consecutive year. The company joined the sanctified perahera with a specially designed float carrying the largest ‘Pirith Kalaya’ distributing ‘Pirith Water’, ‘Pirith Nool’ (Threads) and DVDs containing the ‘Tripitaka’ to thousands of devotees who lined up the streets to pay homage to the relics of the Lord Buddha and the Maharath Theros and the Sacred Relics of Sariputta and Moggallana, as it wended its way to the ‘Vesak Kalapaya’ at The Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited, Dawson Street, Colombo 02.

S-lon Lanka also took the initiative to launch the ‘Tripitaka mobile app’ prior to the commencement of the sanctified perahera carrying the relics from Kirivehera Temple, Kataragama. It was ceremoniously launched at the Kiri Vehera Temple premises in commemoration of the 2560th Sambuddha Jayanthi and was subsequently presented to President Maithripala Sirisena at the inauguration of Sirasa Vesak Kalapaya 2016 by Ms. Shalinie Navaratne, Manager Business Development and Trade Marketing of S-lon Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. The app contains a comprehensive collection of ‘Tripitaka’ texts (Pali canon) in Sinhala, condensed into a user-friendly app that is conveniently accessible to the public via Android and Apple devices.

The Tripitaka mobile app was conceived as a CSR initiative by S-lon Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. with concerted efforts by Rediffusion Y&R who were tasked with design and development of the app.

This valuable app contains all three volumes of the Tripitaka, which are highly resourceful to any student or enthusiast of Buddhist literature. S-lon Lanka is proud to carry out this noble initiative in pursuit of preserving the revered Tripitaka texts in the digital realm, where it will be easily accessible to anyone, wherever.

The Tripitaka mobile app is available for free download on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
