The week saw the loss of boxing champion Muhammad Ali after succumbing to septic shock while in hospital. Cassius Clay, who later changed his name to Muhammad Ali, was a world heavyweight boxing champion and Olympic gold medallist. He controversially didn’t support the Vietnam War and was an outspoken, cocky as well as inspiring and endearing figure. He was also diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and took part in lots of charity work, becoming a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He died on June 3, 2016.
