Selena Gomez stars in the new Netflix original movie, ‘The Fundamentals of Caring,’ and this might be her best role yet. Selena Gomez, 23, is starring in the new original, The Fundamentals of Caring, and judging by the trailer, it looks like a hit. The starlet finds love and adventure when she least expects it. This one is going to be a tear-jerker!
The Fundamental of Caring follows a retired writer named Ben, who’s played by Paul Rudd, 47. In the wake of a personal tragedy, he becomes a caregiver to Trevor (Craig Roberts), an 18-year-old who suffers from muscle-dystrophy. While under Ben’s care, the two decide to go on an impromptu road trip to all the places that Trevor is obsessed with.
As the trailer progresses, you see the dynamic duo as they begin their adventure, riding around from state to state. And that’s where Selena comes in. The 23-year-old performer plays Dot, a sassy runaway the two pick up when they stop in a local town. Selena has been in a dozen of movies, including her most recent role in Neighbors 2 with Chloe Grace Moretz, 19, but this seems to be her most dynamic role yet. The movie is an adaptation of Jonathan Evision’s 2012 novel.
