Working to make a difference in the communities it serves, David Pieris Group, as part of its ongoing welfare initiatives, recently donated computers with internet and other modern facilities for the computer laboratory and equipment for the science laboratory of Sampur Maha Vidyalaya in the Trincomalee District.
This project was implemented by David Pieris Group in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Navy personnel in the area with a view to elevating the level of technical education among underprivileged students in the once war-torn Sampur. Over 650 students of the Sampur Maha Vidyalaya will benefit from this project.
This ongoing initiative by David Pieris Group will be in three stages. As the second stage of the project, the company will construct a toilet complex for the village, while under the third stage, women who are sole breadwinners will be provided with skills training and infrastructure to start their own businesses.
