The Public Services Commission has decided to suspend the services of Anusha Palpita and R.A.A.K. Ranawaka who were serving the public administrative service.

The decision was taken when the Public Services Commission convened this afternoon.

Palpita and Ranawaka were appointed as Additional Secretaries to the Ministries of Home Affairs and Irrigation respectively. The appointments were heavily criticised by civil society groups who pointed out that both persons were being investigated on allegations of fraud and corruption.

The Public Service Commission on Friday announced that it had received copies of the letter indicating that indictments had been filed against them.
