Nation would soon have to decide where to put Priyanka Chopra, in Bollywood or Hollywood gossip pages, with her name now popping up on Hollywood gossip sites since she started on ABC’s Quantico. Here’s what Hollywood had to say about her.
In an interview with Emmy Magazine, Priyanka opened up on growing up as a teenager in America shortly after she left her native home of India. Unfortunately, the experience wasn’t as happy as Chopra had initially hoped for. Prior to moving to US however, PC had a positive upbringing supported by her encouraging parents:
“[I was] head of the class, teacher’s pet, always knew the answers, always in honors classes. My parents never treated me like a child. They made me make my own decisions, told me to think about the pros and cons.”
Despite her idyllic family situation in India, Chopra decided to move in with relatives in Iowa so she could attend high school in America. “I attracted a lot of attention. Nobody looked like me in my school. I was skinny with crazy, frizzy hair. It was like Mean Girls.”
But wait, things unfortunately got WAY worse for the beauty when her relatives traded in Iowa for Newton, Massachusetts: “There was one girl who was just super evil. She kept calling me Brownie, and saying, ‘Go back to your country, you smell like curry’ – and I didn’t, by the way. She was so mean to me.” We wonder what the Quantico star’s hater would have to say about her now!
