A 14-ball blitz, inclusive of six well-timed sixes, by left hander Dhanushka Dharmasiri, steered Citizens Development Business Finance to a fine five wickets win over Lankem Ceylon in the final of the 14th David Pieris Group of Companies sponsored “DPGC” Challenge Trophy, MCA “E” Division 30-over League Tournament at the MCA grounds recently.

Dhamasiri remained unbeaten on 40 as he over shadowed opener Yohan Liyanage’s solid knock with the bat to earn the Man of the Match award.

Earlier, Yohan Liyanage laid the foundation with a solid 85 runs stand for the third wicket off 87 balls with Sewminda Silva (22).
Lankem, who won the toss and opted to bat, finished with a respectable score of 172 for 9 in 30 overs. They build their innings around a 75 runs second wicket stand compiled by Rukshan Weerasinghe (35) and Lisula Weerasekera (56).
The three special awards, based on performances in the league and K-O stages, up to the semi-finals given away were: Best Bowler, Umayanga Premakumara from Citizens Development Business, Best Batsman, Pathum Madusanka from UB finance, Man of the Tournament, Nipuna Gamage from UB Finance.
