Trinity College, rugby captain Rahul Karunathilake will not play in the 72nd Bradby Shield encounter against rivals Royal College, due to the suspension he received for two consecutive yellow cards during their defeat against S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia last week.

The Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday carried out the inquiry and examined the video footage of the match in order to make their final decision.
With this ban imposed on the Trinity College captain, the Lions will be affected badly in the 72nd Bradby Shield encounter which they hope to win back.

Vice-captain cum fly half Thushila Perera is expected to lead the side in their clash against the Royalists.

Meanwhile, Television Match Official (TMO) will be introduced at the 72nd Bradby Shield. Dinka Peiris has been appointed as the referee while Aruna Shantha and Rohan Fernando will assist him.
Wimal Perera, a former referee and also an IRB qualified CMO will officiate from the box as the first TMO to do so in the country.
