It’s no secret that Drew Barrymore had a troublesome childhood. The ET alum was drinking and clubbing as a pre-teen, and living on her own before she could legally drive a car. But when she fell in love with Will Kopelman, a source says she was finally part of a stable family, something she didn’t really have growing up.

The insider explained to People: “The Kopelmans immediately seemed to like Drew. They quickly embraced her and acted like they really cared about her. Drew seemed very happy about being a big part of Will’s family. It was like, for the first time, she had a real family. Drew spent time with Will’s mom Coco over lunch and yoga. Drew and Will often had dinner with his parents in LA.”
