The Kandy Spots Club and Navy Sports Club will lock horns in the second semi-final of the Clifford Cup knockout tournament at Pallekelle on March 20 (Sunday). This is a good game that can’t be missed because of the high quality of rugby that’s expected. In the two league games played this season, Kandy Spots Club dictated terms to the Sailors at Nittawela and Welisara. The Sailors will be playing away from home and it will be difficult for them to mark the Kandy Sports Club team members closely. Both teams passed the quarter-final hurdle quite effectively.
Kandy Sports Club’s forte is the back division which is packed with steppers. The Kandy SC forwards are equally good when taking the ball forward.
Sailors too have a speedy set of three-quarters, who are hard runners. A lot is expected of the Navy SC forwards.
