Ravana Balaya, Sihala Ravaya and Bodu Bala Sena will join forces with organizations representing farmers to take to the streets if the Government fails to provide 50 kilograms of fertilizer at Rs 350 by the end of April.

Ravana Balaya informed that the Government must also put in place a mechanism to purchase paddy and to purchase paddy at a fixed, guaranteed price even if it constituted a loss to the Government.

General Secretary of the Ravana Balaya, Ven. Iththekande Sadhdhathissa Thera said that they were not against the use of carbonic fertilizer but added that the fertilizer subsidy must be provided until the transition concerning the type of fertilizer used is completed.
