Dilan Jayalath of Trinity College became the first batsman from Kandy to score 1000 runs in the 2015/16 inter-school cricket season. Jayalath, a steady batsman, started his cricket at Wariyapola Sri Sumangala College Kurunegala. From there he joined Trinity College. His aggregate now reads 1125 runs.

His 1000 runs were made up of the following scores; 106 n.o Vs Maliyadeva College, 48 Vs St. Aloysius College, Galle, 10 and 24 Vs. St. Anthony’s College, Wattala, 31 and 33 n.o Vs De Mazenod College, Kandana, 97 Vs D.S. Senanayake College, 62 Vs St. Servatius College Matara, 45 Vs St. Peter’s College, 45 and 01 Vs Wesley. College, 08 and 22 Vs. Bandaranayake MV Gampaha, 47 and 56 Vs. Dharmapala College, 5 and 62 Vs. St. Benedict’s College, 40 Vs St. Josephs College, 77 Vs Isipathana College 05 and 59 n.o. Vs Zahira College, Colombo and 76 vs St. Peter’s College.
