Down syndrome is one of the most common genetic disorders around the world. Children living with the disorder experience both mental and physical limitations that prevent them from achieving the same milestones as their peers. Despite its high prevalence globally, only the educators in the field and families who have experienced it, understand the reality of the condition.
Striving to create awareness regarding Down syndrome within the country and hoping to add colour to the lives of children who are subjected to the disorder, AIESEC Colombo Central has organized project Beyond the Ability; a carnival and concert for children with special needs, for the fourth consecutive year.
Almost 100 children who have been diagnosed with Down syndrome will be taking the stage on March 2 at Colombo University New Arts Theatre at 2 pm. Entrance is free and members of AIESEC, Colombo University appreciates your presence.
