Havelocks SC beat CR&FC 26 points (4 Tries, 3 Conversions try) to 21 (one goal, one try, three penalties) in their Dialog inter-club League Rugby Tournament match played at Havelock Park on February 20. At half time Havelocks led 14-6.

CR & FC had their share of misfortune due to the wet conditions, but still maintained a steady pace in their moves.

Tries were scored Havelocks SC by flanker Rohitha Rajapaksha, Rahul De Silva, Ganuka Dissanayaka and Prasath Madusanka while Rimzi Jamaldeen made the conversions.

Tharinda Ratwatte and Kanchana Ramanayake scored tries for CR. Prince Chamara made the conversion and fired across the penalties.

Kandy in hard-fought win

The high-riding Kandy Sports Club beat a depleted Navy Sports Club by 19 points ( 3 Tries , 2 Conversions) to 8 ( 1 Try, 1 Penalty) at Welisara. At half time, Kandy were leading 19-3.

Nigel Ratwatte, Oshan Perera and Srinath Suriyabandara scored a try each for the winners. Ratwatte converted two tries.

Prop forward Stefan Gregory scored the solitary try for the losers while full back Thilina Weerasinghe put over a penalty.

Army rout CH 38-3

Army scored a sensational 38 points (6 tries, 4 conversions) to 3 (1 Penalty) win over CH and FC at Diyagama.
