Local Government Elections will be held in June and the Government has no what so ever plan to postpone it, announced by Local Government and Provincial Councils Faizer Mustapha at a media briefing this morning at the Government Information Department. He added that it was taken to June, just to facilitate the demarcation of electoral boundaries in local government wards.

Minister Mustapha assured that the elections will be held under a new system which is more beneficial for the people. “The demarcation process is going on and it will need some time as over 2000 proposals or appeals are there to consider,” the Local Government Minister added.
