Defending champions and overwhelming favourites Kandy Sports Club intend to retain the league title by being unbeaten for another season. Kandy SC has been described by many as the greatest out of all clubs this season. On Sunday they have the opportunity to cement that position in the second round game against Police SC. Remarkably Kandy SC has not lost a game against Police SC on Nittawela soil since 1993.

This season Kandy SC has won all nine games they played. Their points so far this season have come through 65 tires, 42 conversations and 13 penalties.

Looking at the strengths of the two teams for Sunday’s game the Nittawela side is stronger in all departments. Possessing a strong back division, Kandy SC should tackle their opponents to a standstill. A strong battle between the forwards is expected.
Kandy SC has appointed Roshan Weeraratne as captain in place of regular skipper Fazil Marija who is battling a back ijury.
