Indian Foreign Secretary Subramaniam Jaishankar arrived for an official visit to Sri Lanka this week. The main purpose of his visit was to pave the way for the India–Sri Lanka joint commission meeting which would be held in Colombo next month. Indian Foreign Secretary S.Jaishankar met Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade Malik Samarawickrama at his office for a discussion. Indian High Commissioner Y.K.Sinha was present also at this meeting. Senior officials of the ministry and those from the Indian High Commission were also present at the discussion.
