Januka Dilshan became the Sri Lanka Junior Open golf champion for the first time at the Junior Golf Championship that concluded at the RCGC course at Model Farm Road on December 17.

The 17-year-old, son of a caddie, a school dropout, played excellent golf in the three rounds to win with an aggregate score of 225. His scores of 72, 74 and 79 are considered good for a lad of his age. Amazingly, his handicap is just 2 having taken to the game only three years ago.
