The Navy has arrested four Indian fishermen for encroaching into Sri Lankan waters.

Indian media reports stated that the arrests were made near Talai Mannar andPalk Strait during the early hours today. Accordingly, the Navy had taken their boats into their custody.

Reports said that the arrested fishermen were from Tamil Nadu’s Pudukottai District.

Last month, the Navy had arrested 14 Tamil fishermen along with three fishing boats. At the same time, Sri Lanka had recently released 126 Indian fishermen detained in Sri Lanka as a goodwill gesture.
