Junior Asian Under 20 Rugby Championship in Singapore

A gallant Sri Lankan Under-20 rugby team gave off a sensational display under soggy conditions before they went down fighting to Hong Kong by 24 points (3 Tries. 3 Conversions) to13 (2 Tries , 1 Penalty) in their Junior Asian Under 19 Rugby Championship match played at Singapore Stadium on December 16 (Wednesday).
Sri Lanka trailed 13-14 till the 76th minute of the game against the faster and much heavier Hong Kong players. The winners led 14-8 at half time.
For Sri Lanka tries were scored by their skipper cum number eight Omalka Gunarathana (1) and centre Nishon Perera (1) while scrum half Isuru Kongahawatte put over a Penalty.
