Former Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) Dr. Nalaka Godahewa and two others who were in remand custody over alleged financial irregularities at the SEC, were today further remanded until December 23.

The three were further remanded after they were produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court today.

The two others who have been remanded along with Godahewa are former Deputy Director General of the SEC Dhammika M. Perera and a director of another organization, Ronnie Ibrahim.

All three were arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) over an alleged Rs.5 million fraud committed at the SEC in August, 2013.
