Galenbindunuwewa Police have commenced investigations into the discovery of the body of a woman who was reported missing on November 21.
According to Police Media Unit, the woman, a resident of Megodawewa, had gone missing on November 20. A complaint had been lodged on November 21 with the Galenbindunuwewa Police reporting her to be missing.
The body of the 49-year-old woman was recovered by Galenbindunuwewa Police from a culvert filled with water at around 9.00am today.
Police said initial inquiries had revealed that the woman was last seen leaving her home to herd cattle.
The Anuradhapura Magistrate has commenced a magisterial inquiry into the incident and the body is due to be taken to the Anuradhapura Hospital.
