Sri Lanka Police strengthens its services with the Interpol signing agreement on facilitating cross-border investigations. Sri Lanka Police and Interpol had come to an agreement recently over the subject, Police Media Unit revealed yesterday.

Inspector General of Police N. K. Illangakoon and Secretary General of Interpol Jürgen Stock had signed the Memorandum of Understanding on November 04, in Kigali, Rwanda during the Annual International Police Conference which was attended by the Heads of the police representing many countries.

The agreement aims to facilitate the Interpol officials and the law enforcement officers engaged in cross-border investigations to obtain emergency visas by recognizing the special travel permit issued by the Interpol.
