The Court of Appeal yesterday, advised the Attorney General to direct the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) to file a completed report pertaining to the latest investigations into the activities of Kumaran Pathmanathan alias KP, the alleged financial controller of the LTTE. The Nation learns that the report would be filed at the end of last week of January.

The writ application filed by JVP MP Vijitha Herath will be taken up for support on Feb. 5, 2016 as he has requested the court to order the Police Department to arrest KP whom the late Prabhakaran had described as his successor.

Additional Solicitor General, Jayantha Jayasooriya, President’s Counsel, told the court, that the TID was engaged in a latest series of recording statements from persons who would have known about KP. Earlier the state had submitted to court about 41 incidents, investigated by the CID, the TID and the Colombo Crime Division. But, KP had not been involved in those incidents, the ASG said.
