Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the Naga Viharaya, Kotte to pay his last respects to the Late Most Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera, last evening. Most Ven. Nayaka Thera passed away early Sunday while undergoing treatyements at a hospital in Singapore.

The government has made all the arrangements to conduct the Sobhitha Thera’s funeral with full state honors at the Parliamentary grounds on Thursday, November 12; tomorrow. The Government has also announced Thursday as a National Day of Mourning and all schools and Pirivena schools in the Western Province will also be kept.

Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera was the Chief incumbent of the Kotte Naga Viharaya and his mortal remains lie at the Temple for public to pay respects.
