The Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies (SLASSCOM), the primary IT/BPO business association in Sri Lanka will conduct 2 workshops and 3 technology discussions from November 16-23 focusing on cutting edge technology tools and concepts to support the ‘National Information and Communication Technology Week’.

The focal areas covered in the discussions will address timely topics that are driving global technological disruption such as user experience, internet of things, scaled agile and continuous delivery while enlightening audiences on intricacies related to programming languages such as Javascript.

President Maithripala Sirisena has declared November 16-22 as ‘National Information and Communication Technology Week’. This is the first time that such a week dedicated to the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has ever been declared at national level.

It is in recognition of the significant role the ICT industry plays in all spheres of life, and also in honour of the ICT-related national and international conferences due to be convened in Sri Lanka that the President declared a week devoted to this sector.

The APICTA – 2015 International Awards ceremony will be held in Sri Lanka during ‘ICT Week’. Sri Lanka was selected as the first country to host this international parley. This global platform is considered the ‘Oscars’ of the ICT sector in Asia.

Around 100,000 visitors are expected at the INFOTEL -2015 exhibition, where approximately 200 leading ICT-related, reputed local and international companies will display their newest innovations.
