The death of the Most Ven. Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera in Singapore on Sunday morning has forced the second T20 international between Sri Lanka and the West Indies to be brought forward by a day. The match, scheduled to be played on November 12, has been brought forward due to this day being declared a day of national mourning by the government.
As a mark of respect, musical instruments (Papare Bands) will not be permitted into the ground on the day of the match.
Tickets purchased for the match on 12th November (2nd T20) are valid for the match rescheduled for November 11.
The seventy-three-year old Sobitha Thera came under the spotlight when he became the founder leader of the National Movement for Social Justice (NMSJ). He was the chief prelate of the Kotte Nagaviharaya. His last two years in priesthood were the most noteworthy.
