The Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) has arrested two suspects who have been revealed as being allegedly responsible for several crimes that were committed this year, including a murder.

TID detectives had arrested the suspects on October 25 along with a foreign manufactured pistol and 12 rounds of live ammunition and a magazine used for the firearm.

Investigations had revealed that the suspects had been allegedly responsible for several crimes committed in the Minuwangoda, Seeduwa, Bingiriya and Madampe areas.

It has been revealed that the suspects had been responsible for allegedly robbing a jewelry store on July 15, 2015 and shooting its owner dead.

Among other crimes the suspects are allegedly responsible include robbing two police motorbikes at gunpoint from police officers near the expressway at Seeduwa on October 29.

The suspects had also allegedly shot and injured two persons, one in Godellyaya, Seeduwa on October 18 and another in Madampe on October 19.

The suspects are residents of Minuwangoda and Elakkala and are being further interrogated by the TID under detention orders.
