Asela Gunaratne top scored for Sri Lanka A with a fine 79 on the first day of the second 4-day unofficial test against New Zealand A at Lincoln.

Half-centuries from Udara Jayasundera, Kithuruwan Vithanage and Asela Gunaratne saw Sri Lanka A make 303 in their first innings after being invited to bat first on the opening day of the second four-day unofficial test against New Zealand A at Lincoln.

Right-arm leg-spinner Todd Astle picked up four of the wickets for 55 runs in a tight spell of 22 overs.

New Zealand A were 16 without loss at close.

The first 4-day unofficial test played at Christchurch in this two-match series ended in a draw.
