Steady rain washed out the fourth day’s play without a ball being bowled in the second Test between Sri Lanka and West Indies at the P Sara Oval.

The umpires made three inspections and decided that play was not possible for the day at 3.00 pm.

West Indies will resume their second innings at 20 for one wicket on the fifth and final day tomorrow needing a further 224 to win the match and square the two-Test series played for the Sobers-Tissera trophy.

Sri Lanka won the first Test played at Galle by an innings and six runs.

Scores: Sri Lanka 200 and 206;

West Indies 163 and 20-0.
