Sri Lanka’s National Chamber of Commerce (NCC) this week said it has organized an event where Sri Lanka’s business community would get the opportunity to have an interactive session with the Minister of Agriculture Duminda Dissanayake.

The event is to be held on Tuesday 3 November 2015 from 3.00 p.m to 4.30 p.m at the auditorium of the National Chamber of Commerce.

The National Chamber of Commerce said it has launched this innovative program, ‘Meet the Minister’ series, the first of its kind, to be conducted regularly at the Chamber.

The Chamber  will  host a Minister every month  with the intention of helping the business community to get current information of the  business environment, future plans, and other business related issues pertaining  to their sectors.

“This will be a great opportunity for the business community  to meet the Minister personally and discuss their issues and  give any suggestions at the meeting,” the NCC said in a statement.

Key Institutions under the Ministry of Agriculture are     Department of Agriculture, Department of Export Agriculture,   Department of Agrarian Development, Agricultural & Agrarian Insurance Board, Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research and Training Institute (HARTI), Sri Lanka Council for Agricultural Research Policy(CARP), Sri Lanka Haritha Danaw Bim Sanwardhene Madyama Adhikariya (Hadabima), Institute of Post Harvest Technology (IPHT), National Food Promotion Board
and Ceylon Fertilizer Co.Ltd.
