Legendary West Indies cricketer Sir Garfield Sobers arrived in Sri Lanka on Tuesday at the invitation of Sri Lanka Cricket.

He will be in the country as a guest of Sri Lanka Cricket to witness the upcoming second Test match between Sri Lanka and West Indies which will be played for the Sobers-Tissera trophy.

The trophy will be presented to the team that wins the two-match series. Sri Lanka lead the series 1-0 after winning the first Test at Galle.

Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket Sidath Wettimuny greets Sir Garfield on his arrival at Hotel Taj Samudra. SLC interim committee vice president Kushil Gunasekara and Head of Cricket Operations Carlton Bernadus are also present.
