GALLE: Sri Lanka beat West Indies by an innings and six runs in the first Test to go one up in the two-match series at Galle International Stadium.

West Indies following-on were all out in their second innings for 227 70 minutes after lunch on the fourth day with left-arm spinner Rangana Herath taking four for 79 to give him a match bag 10 for 147.

Jermaine Blackwood top scored for West Indies with 92 and was the last man out.
